This is simply the tip of the iceberg growing the girls game in Edmonton
The all-new Edmonton Female Hockey Alliance will align all female hockey players and create the critical masses necessary to offer a broad range of top-quality elite and community programming. The Edmonton Female Hockey Alliance will connect girls playing minor hockey in the city under a single association, which will elevate development and significantly improve the female hockey experience in Alberta’s capital city. Currently, female minor hockey is dispersed across seven minor hockey associations/clubs, and emerging options outside the traditional minor hockey further dilute the female game. Creating a single Edmonton Female Hockey Alliance will ensure that girls playing hockey in Edmonton receive appropriate levels of development and competition that will positively impact female hockey players for years to come.
The Hockey Canada Registration Database for the Female Hockey Alliance is still being developed. This means that the opening of registration will be slightly delayed, but will be open no later than June 15, 2023.
