Hockey Edmonton’s Learn to Play Hockey program is a recreational hockey program which introduces and develops technical hockey skills (skating, puck-handling, shooting, passing) through Rotational Technical Stations and Small Area Games (cross-ice hockey). Hockey Edmonton will provide a hockey jersey to all registrants, however NO hockey equipment will be provided when registering for this program.
Athletes will be grouped according to age and ability level. The curriculum is based upon/built from age-appropriate Hockey Canada curriculum resources. Trained and Certified Hockey Canada NCCP Coaches will be leading the sessions.
To be eligible for this program, athletes must have a basic skating foundation (be able to glide forwards and stride on their own). This is NOT a Learn to Skate Program. Hockey Edmonton’ s Learn to Play Hockey program offers a valuable athlete-to-coach ratio, hands-on coaching, skill correction, and repetition. No makeup sessions or credits will be provided for missed dates.
